Maretha Gerber set to take over the reins at Daimler Truck Southern Africa.
In a groundbreaking move, Maretha Gerber becomes Daimler Truck Southern Africa's first female President and Group Chief Executive Officer. Michael Dietz who is presently serving as President and Group CEO of Daimler Truck Southern Africa, assumes the helm of Regional Centre Middle East and Africa, a position that presents a fresh challenge.

Maretha Gerber has been designated as the new President and Group CEO of Daimler Truck Southern Africa (DTSA). Maretha creates history as the first female to be appointed to this position at DTSA; she was born and raised in South Africa. Michael Dietz, who is now serving as president and group CEO, will be taking on a new job on April 1, 2024, which would trigger this change.

By virtue of being the CEO, Maretha will sit on the board. She is indeed a qualified candidate for this role, given her extensive background and stellar connection with clients. Michael will sit on the board of the Regional Centre for the Middle East and Africa due to his wealth of expertise and considerable experience. Maretha and Michael should thrive in their new positions, given their experience and skill set.
The chance to serve as President and Group CEO of Daimler Truck Southern Africa is a tremendous honour. I am looking forward to leading the DTSA group of enterprises to even greater success with their seasoned leadership and brilliant staff. We are excited to work with our dealers and general distributors to continue our development and success, and we will work together to create a better future for everyone involved, Maretha told the media present.
Michael Dietz, the current president and group chief executive officer of DTSA, took the stage to congratulate Maretha. “You have been entrusted with DTSA and have a history of success; may you continue to excel in your new position. As I wrap up my four years in the Southern Africa area, I want to express my gratitude to our customers, the DTSA network, and the workers of the DTSA group of businesses for an incredible experience. We accomplished a lot as a team,” he said.

A piece of my heart will always belong to this incredible and extraordinary nation and its people, Dietz concluded.
